Suicide case in other dorm

I needed to take care of the other dorm as the dorm manager has gone and no replacement yet. It happened during one of the early morning. The attendant in that dorm called and told me a resident stabbed himself.

When i got there, i saw a half naked guy, with a minor injury on his chest, went down to the service counter and wanted to borrow scissors to stab himself. He went down for scissors because his roommate has taken out his knife and hid it in somewhere.

I tried to call the counselling team, but then got a feedback that I must contact the dorm master first. They could not just go down to the dorm and take charge of the case, unless the dorm master asked them to do it

I was quite disappointed about the feedback, and i didn't know what to do. I called the dorm master and he requested me to call the parents. The parents were then coming to campus. in the meantime, we could only do was to stay close to him. By the time i called the dorm master, the suicide student went back to his room. When i saw that his roommate was around, i left him there.

before his parents came, he suddenly went out of the room and told me that he wanted to meet up some girl in the academic building. I didn't know what to do but tried to persuade him back to his room. he insisted to go and therefore i went with him.

Finally, his parents came to the campus and we got back to the dorm. it was a super exhausted experience. I hope i will not need to take of this kind of case again.

Suspect suicide case

I was called by the dorm mom one early morning. She told me that the counseling team called and told her one of the residents in our dorm has shown the suicidal desire to his friend. Dorm mom was quite worry about it and asked me to check him out.

Then i went up to the room and knocked on it. The student opened the door. We have a short chatting. He said he was just making fun with his friend, with no desire to harm himself.

I was anxious about it because there was a girl hanged herself in the toilet of the other dorm. i was so helpless.

A drunk Exchange Student

A male exchange student, who was from South America, went to Lan Kwai Fong for drink. It was just like a normal Thursday/Friday drink for the students. They liked to go there on Thursday because of the Ladies' Night. They liked to go on Friday because no class during the weekend. It was just as similar as those students in Ohio University.

He was probably being cheated, joked. He drank not many cups of alcohol, but suspected that some people mixed it up with various kinds of alcohol. He could not remember anything after he has drank for couple of it. He was carried back to the Dorm. The n he tried to go to his room, but actually went to the wrong one. It was a girl room. When he was trying to use his key card to open the door, he made some sound. There was a girl sleeping in the room and heard about that. She thought it was her roommate. Therefore, she got up and opened the door. Although she found he was not her roommate right after she opened the door, she could not keep him away because this male student has pushed so hard to the door and laid down on the bed which was belonged to her roommate.

This girl was so scared and freaked out. She ran to her friend's room at the same floor, and did not know what to do. Both her friend and she then went to rest in the common room, when they were still without any clue of what has just happened. Several minutes later, this male student suddenly got up and went to pee at the common room that they were staying. This time, they were both stunned and ran down to the ground floor service counter to ask for help.

When the attendant got to the floor, he saw that the drunk student was laying on the crouch of the common room. He then asked the girl went back to her room with her friend staying with her. And, i was called about this case.

When i got to the floor, i saw the girl was so scared and she grabbed my arm and asked me to help her with two despairing eyes. I never saw such a despairing eye before. I was a little afraid as well. However, since i was the dorm manager, i must do something about it.

The attendant finally took this drunk student back to his room. He was so drunk that he did not know i had gone to his room couple times.

Angry Local Student

There was a room with some musical instruments inside in the dorm. Some of the residents could use the room for practice. One of the korean girl borrowed the room and let her local hong kong friends to use the room. At the same time, the Dorm wanted to get a movie activity in that room. When those people were in the room, I asked them left as the Dorm always had the first priority to use the room, even someone has been using it. These were four or five local students from other UG Dorm. They asked me if I would let them use the room at the other time slot, and I agreed with it. One of them were so mad when I told them to leave and  pointed his finger to me and yelled that if I would keep the word. That's the first time i got finger pointed. I was quite angry. but i didn't show it on my face. I acted so calm.
